  1. The book, The Road of the Dead by Kevin Brooks, is a story full of suspisions, conflict, and surprises. It's a murder mystery written to entertain teens and young adults. Kevin Brooks gives this story a twist and turn within every chapter and he keeps you turning the pages for more.
The main character, Ruben, is caught in the middle of the death of his sister, Rachel, and has set out with his older brother, Cole, to find their sister's murderer to bring back her body, but maybe Cole has some other reasons to go find the culprit, instead of the fact that his mother simply wants to recover her daughter's body from the police station, which can't be done without the killer being found.
Ruben and his brother must go through a constant uphill battle and a circus of odd clues. This isn't anything like the typical "detective stuff". It's about the journey that brings two brothers together and shows the differances between them and their opinions.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes a twistedl plotted story, would like something slightly unusual, and doesn't mind a murder mystery every once in a while.

  2. i have just finished reading the following book, "Flush". It's about this boy named Noah who's father is in jail for sinking this casino boat called the "Coral Queen".He sunk the boat because the boat flushes it's waste into the ocean. Of course no one believes the fact that Noah's father did the right thing. Since no one believes him, Noah and his sister Anne try and find a way to break his father out of jail and get Dusty Muleman into jail. This book will want you to keep turning pages.Once you get to the end of the book you will want it to keep going. if you like books about revenge and adventure then I highly recommend this facinating book to you!I hope you give this book a try.

  3. One of my favorite books that I just recently fisished is "A Child Called It".Its a really sad book. Its a bout a little boy that got abused as a child. He used to have the family like the Brady Bunch.,everything was perfect. But then that all ended.,His mom became a big time acholic.,She became really mean.Shes wouldnt feed him for like 10 days & when she would it would only be like food scrapes. She would lock him in the bathroom with chemicals to clean the bathroom.,& she wouldnt even open a window. She would smack him around like he was nothing. She didnt care for him at all. But she cared for his other brothers.,She didnt treat them anything like she treated Dave(the boy that got abused). This book accually made me cry a few times. I can not picture me or anyone eles going through that at such a young age. Dave was only like 5-12 getting abused like this.Once i started reading this book i didnt wanna put it down.Sooo i recommend that you should take some time & read this book.

  5. I had read 'Forever' by Judy Blume over the summer and it is definitely my favorite book of all time! A lot of love stories I have read are extremely predictable... Well, this one is far from predictable. You never knew what was going to happen. Usually every love story has a happy ending and they have some issues throughout the relationship. Blah blah blah. They're all the same. But, 'Forever' is very different from any other love story. Right when you thought everything is perfect and you know what's going to happen next, BOOM!! Something totally unexpected happens. Judy Blume created this story that I believe every teenager goes through, one way or another. It was a great story that really isn't appropriate for younger children but perfect for teens and young adults. And for parents that aren't too sure what to expect when raising a teenager, this book really gives true thoughts of how us teenagers really do think, what our fears are, how we may feel about certain things, and most importantly what may be going on in our lives at this time. If one of my friends ask me for a suggestion on a book, I usually recommend this book. It is a fantastic book and I honestly cannot wait to read it again! :)

IT is wierd at first because Ruben is the onte teeling the story to a reporter, so its like a third person view of the story

  9. The book series Twilight, by Stephanie Meyer, has captivated the hearts of millions of girls. There are a few guys out there who like it as well, but it's a love story and not too many teenaged guys are into that kind of thing.
Stephanie Meyer has combined the ultimate love story and the most compelling of vampire legends into four wonderful books.
These four books, Twilight; New Moon; Eclipse; and Breaking Dawn, are about how a completely ordinary girl, Bella, finds that her life is about to be altered by the most beautiful creature ever known . . . or not known. This creature is called a vampire, obviously. Edward Cullen has completely captivated Bella's attention and has taken over her life, not that Bella minds it.
Thw two fall head over heals for each other, but many things go wrong in each books of this compelling series, like another mythical creature coming into the picture when Edward decides he's not what's best for Bella, the upper class of vampires coming after Bella, and the constant battle between the Cullens and a redheaded vampire who's after Bella's lover; Edward.
I highly recommend this series to anyone who like a fiery romance and a little weirdness on the side.

  13. I'm going to talk aout the Orca soundings series. I've enjoyed this series throughout grade school and Jr. High. It's a series of short easy read books, containing fifty or so stories about the things that teenagers have to go through. There's one about a boy who runs away from home, a young artist who's stuck in a wheelchair, a boy who accidently murdered his best friend when he was drinking underaged, and many more.
If you want to read something with A compelling taste for teen drama and a hint of violence, then I recommend one of the Orca Sounding books.

  20. Hello, the book im going to talk about is "Freedom Walkers", I am almost done with it. I only have about 8 more pp. First of all the author is Russell Freedman. now about the book. it is all a true story about what happened in the past and big changes people have made. this book is touching inspiring and at moments sad. people didn't use to be treated like we are now. that was the sad part. how people were treated just cause of their skin color a.k.a racism. these people were beaten arrested and called names just cause color of skin. I'll use Rosa Parks for example. She was an African American women who got arrested for just not giving up her seat for a white man. Whoever reads this comment should read this book. It's amazing. For people that love/like good non-fiction books about life or somethin i recomend "Freedom Walkers".

  31. The book ive just finished reading is The Hunger Games. It is my favorite book!it was written by Suzanne Collins. If your looking for a good suspenseful book with lots of action, look no further, this is the book for you. the main charactor is Katniss Everdeen, people usually call her Katnip because of her name. One of the other charactors is Peeta Mellark, he is very important in this book. The reason the name of the book is The Hunger Games is because the games are when they chose two kids from one of the districts (one guy, one girl)to battle it out in a huge arena. I am planning on getting the second book Catching Fire. (Typed by Brett Berg XD)

It all starts when the King family suddenly moves from thier house in the city to a small town. Xander, the oldest son in the King family, is suspicious when the family moves into a creepy old house. Strange things occur in the house not long after they move in. Secrets the family has been keeping are revealed. The family members are put in periless situations, and you learn more and more about the characters as you read. 'House of Dark Shadows' is a book for everybody. I highly reccommend it.

  34. I've been reading 'Wednesday Wars', by Gary Schmidt. This book can best be described as a realistic and historical fiction. The main character, Holling is entering the 7th grade and has found out he is going to have Mrs. Baker for a teacher. Mrs. Baker, by the way, is the meanest teacher there is (or that's what Holling thinks). Holling has many incidents that take place and leave you waiting for the next adventure. I recommend this book to all of you.

The book I recently just finished is called "So B. It". Its about a young girl named Hiedi who has quite a lucky streak and lives with her mentally disabled mother who only knows 24 words and Bernadette. Bernadette happens to have angora phobia, google it, and she found them outside her apartment door. Hiedi doesn't know when she was born, whats her name, whos her father, and who she is. She decideds to head off to find out while meeting a few "interesting" people along the way. Will she make it? This novel keeps you on your toes and guessing what will come next page after page. 49. So B. It, by Sarah Weeks, is a heart warming story about a young girl, Heidi, who knows nothing about who she is or where she'd come from. When she was only an infant, a nice woman, Bernadette, had found Heidi's mentally challenged mother clutching onto Heidi. Bernadette took care of the two, but Heidi's mother's disease grows worse and worse and Bernie can't take her to a doctor because she has agoraphobia.
Heidi becomes ignorant in her curiosity to find out who she is, so she sets out on a journey to Liberty, New York and finds answers that she didn't think were possible. While on her trip, something bad happens, but you have to read the book to find out what. =)

  50. A Child Called "It" is a thoroughly brutal story about Dave Pelzer's experiences throughout his childhood with his abusive, alcoholic mother. He describes every feeling and every significant moment. This true story helps us view the true horrific battles that children who suffer child abuse must endure.
This mournful and hopeful novel has spread hope throughout the minds of many.

  59. Heyyyoooo!!!! Sara's back :D hahaha! Well, last year when I was in 7th grade I read this book called, 'There's A Ghost Following My Sister.' It's been 1 of my favorite books since I've read it. It was a fictional book with true stories from history included. So while you were enjoying a great story, you learned a little bit about the past. It was a pretty good book and I'd like to read it again sometime soon to refresh my memory on it. Whenever somebody asked me to help them look for a book, I always went around the library to find that book. (But then I read 'Forever' and decided that I was going to suggest that 1 everyone instead.) Well, those are my 2 favorite books!!!

  60. Anything but Ordinary by Valerie Hobbs is a story about two geek-to-the-core teenagers. From their meeting in eighth grade, Winifred and Bernie are in love and are VERY individual. They thrive on the feeling of being unique and differant from everyone else and are there for each other all through the rough year of high school. Of course, they are the perfect couple. So when they consider college, they send the same applications, hoping to never seperate.
But Bernie has some domestic problems, such as his mother passing away, and drops out of school, while Winifred continues on in her journey through education.
College life takes Winifred by surprise, but her roommates help her to fit in. They alter her look and her attititude, while being away from Bernie.
When Bernie shows up in California and finds Winifred, she's become . . . ordinary.
Will they become their old unique selves and continue on as they had planned from the very beginning? Read it to find out!

  61. Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick is a heart warming and brutally sad story about the typical brother-to-brother relationship when something TERRIBLE goes wrong.
Steven is the older brother who's always had trouble making friends. Jeffery, on the other hand, is the youger one who is always running around and having a good time.
But things start to go wrong when Jeffery starts to complain that his "parts hurt".
Nothing was incredibly triggered until Steven accidently left him alone on the stool and Jeffery fell . . . but he lost must more blood than what would be normal. He was rushed off to the hospital and they discovered something.
Jeffery was diagnosed with acute lumphoblastic leukemia. the "too cute" little brother has to suffer all the treatments.
Steven begins to realize that maybe he should be nicer to his Jeffery and help him through this.
This story is highly recommended to anyone who loves a cute heart warming novel.
